The UFC has announced (via Twitter) a new addition to the UFC on Fox 20 event that is scheduled for July 23, 2016 in Chicago, IL. Felice Herrig is expected to fight Kailin Curran in a women’s strawweight bout, adding to a still-developing card that has yet to have a headliner announced.

Herrig joined the UFC for season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter, during which she won in a rematch against opposing teammate Heather Jo Clark (over whom she’d already achieved a split decision victory at Bellator 94) but lost in the quarterfinals to Randa Markos.
The former Muay Thai champion went on to defeat Lisa Ellis at the TUF finale via armbar, but suffered a loss against Paige VanZant at UFC on Fox 15. Kailin Curran had also lost to VanZant in a previous bout at UFC Fight Night 57, but came back with a win via submission over Emily Kagan at UFC Fight Night 80. This should be a defining fight for Curran against the well-rounded and more experienced Herrig, as the UFC women’s strawweight division gets increasingly interesting.
